March 18 - 23 Hank Wesselman

Visionseeker: Shamanism and the Modern Mystical Movement

Hank Wesselman, PhDWe will utilize the classic shamanic journey method to re-establish connections with our spirit helpers and teachers, ancestors and descendants. We will explore the issue of empowerment, the nature of the three souls in the Polynesian perspective and how this cluster interfaces to produce the self. We shall begin to examine the nature of illness and healing from the perspective of the traditional shaman. The week will include a powerful healing ritual and close with an exercise oriented toward ancestral lineage healing.

This workshop provides a clear introduction for those less familiar with the shaman’s path and will enhance the practice of more experienced inner travelers.

Hank Wesselman, PhD, is an anthropologist who has spent much of his life among traditional tribal peoples. He is a shamanic practitioner in the 29th year of his apprenticeship and author of eight books on shamanism, including the Spiritwalker Trilogy, the award-winning Awakening to the Spirit World, and The Bowl of Light. Bring drums and rattles if you have them, a light blanket, a notebook and an eyeshade.

Also at Breitenbush, July 27 - 29 Hank will be presenting "Spiritwalker: Accessing the Inner Worlds for Power, Knowledge and Spiritual Healing", followed by Visionseeker Level 2: Spirit Medicine from July 29 - August 3.

Jun 1 - 3 Benjy & Heather Wertheimer with Elizabeth Rainey

The Path of Kirtan: Open Your Voice, Open Your Heart

Benjy & Heather WertheimerThe Path of Kirtan explores the ancient practices of kirtan and sacred sound. In this workshop we’ll immerse ourselves in this luminous ocean through voice, mantra, devotion, movement, yoga and meditation to connect more deeply with the divine Presence. From this foundation, the chanting of sacred names and mantras will flow with new depth and new freedom. This workshop is offered with the intention to cultivate more beauty, love and peace inside ourselves and in our world.

Benjy and Heather Wertheimer lead kirtan (sacred chanting) worldwide as the duo Shantala, with soul-stirring vocals, sacred lyrics and exquisite instrumentation. Together they create music with beauty, passion and reverence. Shantala has performed and recorded internationally with such sacred music luminaries as Krishna Das, Deva Premal & Miten and Jai Uttal.
